SeqDecspatch: Last chance for SMALL BITES!
Also, some thoughts on making stuff, and an update on FREE HANDS
First things first: SMALL BITES is on Kickstarter until July 9 at 9:15pm ET

The campaign may have been short, but it’s also been successful. SMALL BITES #2 is fully funded on Kickstarter. I appreciate everyone who has backed it, and if you haven’t yet, I’d love to get it in your hands.
Here’s the first look of a fully lettered page from a story I did in it with Richard Kemp and Toben Racicot.

This book has four stories that I’ve been kicking around for some time, and I’m excited to share them with you all.
Free Hands #3 is well under way
I mentioned last newsletter that FREE HANDS #3 is also finally coming to Kickstarter on August 4. I hope folks will register for prelaunch. We’re pushing 100 followers already, and I’d love to to be in triple digits before launch day.
If you aren’t familiar with FREE HANDS, it’s the story of the last executions of pirates and colonial Boston, loosely based on the trials of William Fly. Told from the perspective of an unnamed survivor of the pirate ship FREE-HAND to a Boston church congregation before his hanging, it follows a crew led by the idealistic Captain Silk and their quest to live “a short life, but a happy one” while on the run from the British Navy.
New artist J. Schiek (Old Devils) has joined the book, and first glance of his pages look fantastic. Here’s a first look:
Looking forward to sharing more later this summer!
Appearances in Plymouth & Leominster, MA!

The good dudes at Inebri-Art return to bring together local authors, indie publishers, and neighborhood bookshops under one roof. Grab a cold beer, meet the writers behind the pages, and discover your next favorite read before it hits the mainstream.
Saturday, August 22, 10am-4pm
Hilton Double Tree Hotel
Leominster, MA
One of New England’s best and longest running small cons, featuring an array of small presses, collectables, artist tables, and more.
That’s all for now
Back soon, friends.
Best,
Matthew Wilding
